NALCO signs pact with NLC India for power, renewable project

National Aluminium Company Ltd (NALCO), a Navratna central public sector enterprise, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with NLC India Ltd (NLCIL) for strengthening collaboration on the 1080-MW thermal captive power project and renewable energy development.

The MoU was signed on Saturday in the presence of Jagdish Arora, Director (Projects & Technical), NALCO, and Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director of NLCIL, and the Directors of NLCIL at Mahabalipuram (Tamil Nadu).

The MoU will support NALCO’s captive and long-term power requirements, with a focus on sustainable energy solutions.

“It provides a structured framework to explore long-term power tie-ups and coal supply arrangements. The partnership will envisage joint project development in the future,” a press release said.
